Who else HATES having flat, limp looking hair?! I thought I was doomed to an eternity of looking for a volumizer that really works, until I found my FAVOURITE hair product ever. You can tell this will be a glowing review, but I’m not 100% sure this product is right for everyone, so read up on my Alterna Plumping Strand Expand review.
This product has a lotion texture, and is meant to use on damp hair, mostly at the crown of your head (closer to the roots). I find that if I apply a nickel-sized amount about a minute before blow drying I get the best results; which would be voluminous, full hair that does NOT deflate at all throughout the day. If you find your hair looks the same as usual, apply more product next time. If it becomes frizzy or greasy after blow drying, apply less next time. After a few uses, I understood what the right amount was for me, and my hair always looks the way I want, without feeling like I have ANYTHING in it.
One thing I noticed is that when my friends who have coarser or thicker hair used it, they weren’t as blown away as I was. They saw a slight volume increase, but nothing too spectacular. My hair is fine, and currently short. I used it when I had long hair as well, and still loved the results. I recommend trying a sample first (ask for enough for at least 3 uses so you can get the hang of it) if your hair is thicker.
Personally, I am blown away by this product. My hair feels thicker, and looks volumized, and better than ever! This is SO worth trying out, you can get it from Sephora or www.4alterna.com for about $25 CAN, which I feel good about paying for a product that actually works.
